Want to Volunteer with C.L.A.W.S.? Here's some ways YOU can help...
Fostering: Open your home to a cat, kitten, dog or puppy. Once you have been approved as a foster home we will place an animal in your care. You socialize and care for him or her and make sure they are happy and comfortable until they find their forever home. It is a rewarding experience knowing you had a part in giving an unwanted or abandoned pet a new lease on life.
Fundraising: Be a part of one ore more of any of our fundraisers we hold throughout each year. We hold events such as garage sales, tricky trays, gift wrapping for the holidays, dinners, adoption days and more! Sign up with us on www.MeetUp.com and you will be notified as to what events are happening and when. Then just simply click "will attend" and come volunteer!
Food Drives: We currently have a "Food Pantry" at our Bergenfield location. Our volunteers distribute pet food during certain hours to people in the community who are financially struggling to feed their pets. The pantry is kept stocked by monetary and food donations all year long. A food drive is a fun project for a student or boy/girl scout to do in their school or troop. Contact Leanna at EZRider107@aol.com for more information.
Adoption Center/Pet Food Pantry: We house a small number of cats at our adoption center and have volunteers come in two times per day, 7 days a week to feed, clean and socialize them. The food pantry also has three shifts on friday, saturday and sunday. This is a more "hands on" way to volunteer and interact with the animals.
Administrative: We have volunteer work that includes email retrieval, voice mail retrieval, flyer distribution, food pantry committee, foster home committee and more.
Transport: With so many animals needing vet care we are in need of people that can transport the animals to the vet for their appointments and then bring them back to their foster homes. We also need people to do home checks for potential adopters and follow ups with our adopted animals to make sure they are safe and happy.
We have also had people from the community volunteer their special services such as photographers, graphic artists, dog trainers and so forth. If you have a trade or idea that can help us and the animals of C.L.A.W.S. we would be happy to hear about it!
